There are three main methods to correct gummy teeth. Let’s list them one by one:

After the tissue has been carefully removed, your dentist may end up placing stitches to place your gum tissue back together. This latter step may or may not be required for your individual case.
Laser Diode Surgery: In cases where a small amount of tissue needs to be removed a dental laser can be used to correct your gummy teeth imperfections. In this case a small laser is used remove the extra tissue. This method allows for rapid recovery and allows for a faster healing process than a traditional surgery.
Electrosurgery: Electrosurgery is when a machine called an electrosurgical unit is used to remove your excess tissue. This form of surgery is quite common, and similar to the Laser, allows for a rapid healing process. Unlike the laser, this unit allows for more tissue removal than a traditional laser making it slightly more aggressive than the former.
